Details

Schubert's Mass No. 2 in G Major is real gem: although modest in scale and conservative in style, it is full of beautiful passages which showcase Schubert's melodic gift and harmonic fluidity. It was composed in 1815 for performance in Schubert's parish church in Vienna and scored for three soloists, chorus, organ and strings.

The Schubert Mass will be preceded by Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus and followed by an arrangement of William Boyce's Alleluia canon, which will provide our children's choir with an opportunity to join the chorus and orchestra in a lively finale!
